I was at the Masters in 2005 when Tiger Woods won. On the Saturday, Tiger missed the 18th green to the right side and the pin was on the right too. The shot looked impossible to mortal men. Tiger took several quick, calculated practice swings with a wedge and then hit a flop shot that landed right behind the pin and stopped dead for an easy par putt. The guy next to me in the crowd, yelled out Show Off.

Favorite Masters Moment: Duffy Waldorf tossed me his ball on 18th green saying, “save it for the baby”. I was five months pregnant. Duffy had his kids color with markers on his balls. After twenty-five years, my son still has that ball.

In 1992 I was a wee lad starting to really get into golf and on a whim, decided to follow Fred Couples. I was always Fred on the scorecard of the rounds I played with my dad and so I sat down to watch him play the 92 Masters. Everything was going great until the 12th hole and I couldn’t believe he hit his shot into the water, probably losing the tournament but NO it stayed up and even better? He made par to go on to win. That solidified my fandom of Fred (who else owned On Tempo video?) and was a great Masters moment.

Jack Nicklaus putting out on 18, his 72 hole in 1986, with the lead, after a great round, and waiting for his son, Jack jr., putting out his hand to shake Jackie’s and, Jackie responding with a hug. They walk off the green together, arms around each other. Jack wins.

Phil’s 2nd shot on par 5 out of the pine straw, between the trees, lands softly on the green!
